The Investor of Vinh Tan General Port Project is Vinh Tan General Port Joint Stock Company (Subsidiary of Pacific Corporation) with total project investment of over 2,292 billion dong. Project objective is to construct a general port to meet the demand for export and import of general goods for socio-economic development of Binh Thuan province and the neighboring provinces of South Central Region and Central Highlands.
Project has a total area of 141 ha of water surface, in which about 51 hectares of water surface area for leveling to construct warehouses, internal transport infrastructure and port services and about 90 hectares of water surface area is used to make the surface area of the port (including water works, water surface area in front of berths, the ship's returned area, ship lane.). The stage 1 of Project includes two general berths for ships of up to 30,000 DWT, a berth for public service ships combined for ships of up to 3,000 DWT for goods, it meets export and import demand of general goods for socio - economic development of Binh Thuan, the south of Ninh Thuan, a part of Central Highlands and the neighboring provinces in South Central Region.
Along with the key infrastructure projects such as Phan Thiet airport, the improvement of National Highway No.1A, Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Highway, Vinh Tan General Port will be a synchronous and diversity infrastructure chain, promoting the investment and socio-economic development of Binh Thuan province in the next time.
According to the plan, the 1st stage of project will be completed and put into operation at the end of 2016. The remaining stages will be invested according to the development of the flow of goods to the port.
