Mr. Phan Dien - former Politburo Member, Standing Member of the Central Committee's Secretariat; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Minister of the Government Office; Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh - Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism; Ms. Truong Thi Mai - Chairman of the Committee of Social Issues and National Assembly; Mr. Vo Van Thuong - First secretary of the Central Communist’s Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh; Mr. Phan Nhu Lam - Vice Secretary of Da Nang Party Committee; Mr. Tran Van Minh - Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee, and leaders of the provinces, Youth Union Association in central region had attended.
The opening program stylized with battles of heavy rain, strong wind, isolated homes, broken trees, dilapidated roof, the mothers and sisters kept rowing against the tide…These were images that always appear at the Central during typhoon period. The scenery made everyone in the hall of Trung Vuong Theater and audiences at home feel emotionally. But at the same time, the background of the river flow endlessly, blue light, and beautiful dances appeared to clear away the darkness, that is the light of hearts from people nationwide to those are living in central provinces.
In a warm and emotional atmosphere of the program, Mr. Nguyen Cong Khe – Vice Chairman of Vietnamese Youth Union, the Journal TNO noted that: "According to the initiative of Mr. Phan Dien, we held the program "For our beloved Central" tonight for the compatriots and businesses throughout the country towards people in central provinces who were suffered five major floods from mid October to the end of November….From 1964 to present, after 43 years, cruel flood came again to the land which have been suffered consecutive losses caused by natural disasters. According to statistics from 12 central provinces, the flood killed and injured hundreds of people, more than 60 thousand households were evacuated, 5,000 houses were collapsed or washed away. For a poor land strip as the Central, those damages have exceeded people’s endurance.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Khe shared: "During the flooding period, TNO deployed mobilization towards the central region, many readers presented at TNO office. Also, the representative offices of TNO nationwide sent a lot of relief goods and cash amounting to nearly VND 8 billions. Youth volunteer teams, TNO journalists and staff gave money and giftst directly to the hands of people in the flodding zone.
With all hearts towards the central region, with sentiment "sharing rice and clothes” which are good traditions of our nation, TNO held this cultural night expecting that compatriots and businesses throughout the country continue towards millions of people in arduous situations after the flood.Through the program, Mr. Nguyen Cong Khe called for compatriots at home and abroad to continue with physical and spiritual support to ease difficulties and gradually stabilize people’s lives. Moreover, all good solutions from readers for central provinces as well as disaster-prone areas are always welcome.
Within the program "For our beloved Central", on behalf of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Phan Dien and Mr. Nguyen Cong Khe received money donation and presented flowers to representatives of businesses, benefactors. Mr. Phan Van Quy – Chairman of Pacific Corporation, who contribute and mobilize more than VND 3 billion for the program, said emotionally: "Early life, I was a solder in the central land; that’s why by witnessing damages caused by the disaster, whatever I can do for central region, I will certainly do it.”
Mr. Than Duc Nam - General Manager of Cienco 5, confided to join campaign for the Central through the program: "I was born and raised in central land that help me understand the great loss of people in my country, so whatever I can do, I will try my best to do it to help people. I hope that benefactors will somehow share with central provinces". In the program, 100 houses of gratitude for the flooding compatriots were awarded with 5,000 life jackets to Youth Volunteers in 12 Vietnam central provinces. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quang - Vice Chairman of Quang Nam province confided: "We acknowledge and sincerely thank to the kindness of benefactors”.
Wherever we are, everyone’s hearts are towards the Central, Quang Nam, Da Nang – the places are often suffered with severe damages caused by natural disasters. All the help from benefactors have been a power for people to overcome the flooding consequences and build new lives ".
The songs, words of love from singers to the central region throughout the program made the late night atmosphere become warmer. Although the loss and pain could be eased somehow, the emotional feelings of the people throughout the country towards the central provinces have always been there!
