Lac Thuy District is located on the southeast of Hoa Binh province, Kim Bang district and Thanh Liem district (Ha Nam province) are on the Eastern boundaries, Yen Thuy district (Hoa Binh province) is on the West, Kim Boi district (Hoa Binh province) is on the North and Gia Vien district and Nho Quan district (Ninh Binh) are on the South.
